Willard and his Bowling Trophies
this has to be, without a doubt, the most depressing book I have ever read. It is a ghost of a Braughtigan novel that reads like he just wasnt trying. or maybe couldnt try.

I liked it maybe an ounce more than the Hawkline Monster...at least I could finish this one.
Actually So the Wind Wont Blow it all Away was his last published book (in 82) he commited suicide in 84. Willard and His Bowling Trophies was published in 75 a year after the Hawkline Monster was published. He definatly was not happy during these times.
